don't get too close, it's dark inside, it's where my demons hide JOHN STEVEN RHODES Hey there! It's Mercy with a new character, played by Adam Levine. I'm currently twenty years old and live in the eastern timezone. This application is complete. basics GENDER: Male AGE: 30 BIRTHDAY: November 14 NATIONALITY: American SEXUALITY: Straight PREVIOUS OCCUPATION: Head of his father's company CURRENT OCCUPATION: Hunter relations MOTHER: Elizabeth Rhodes FATHER: Francis Rhodes BROTHER(S): None SISTER(S): None SPOUSE: Emma Rhodes CHILDREN: Evelyn Rhodes PET(S): OTHER: Mercy Rhodes[cousin] appearance John is a tall, handsome man with dark brown hair that he keeps short. His eyes are a deep shade of ocean blue, over which loom a pair of thick brows. John stands just over six feet tall with well defined muscles from years of working out and playing hockey. His facial hair is always trimmed nicely, but almost never shaved completely. John even has a umber of tattoos, including a sleeve on one arm from his college days. personality When he lived in New York, John was a fun, happy go lucky guy who thrived off of adventure and spontaneity. No matter what, he always had time for his friends and, most of all, his wife. Things change though and so do people. When John moved his family back to Washington DC, John became more nd more like his father. He threw himself into his work, intent on making a better life for his family, even though the one they had before wasn't a bad one at all. While trying to keep his family happy though, he forgot that he had a bigger role to play than just the bread winner. Essentially, John had turned into his father. Other than the obvious family issues, John is still a seemingly happy man, almost blinded to the fact that he has been neglecting his family. He's the type of man that is always joking around and tends to take things lightly. At the same time though, John can be over protetive and stubborn. history John was born and raised in Washington DC to a wealthy couple. When John was just six years old, his mother packed her bags and left with another man, leaving John and his father behind. Since that very night, John has always felt a sense of abandonment when it came to his mother. As a child, John was always acting out and getting into trouble. His father tried everything to help John out, sending him to the best and most expensive therapists. What he failed to see though was that John needed to spend time with his father most of all. Francis Rhodes was addicted to his work, being the head of a large corporation. Whenever he made any progress with winning John over, something was always there to distract him. John may have been a trouble maker, but he was no idiot. In school, he always did enough to get by, even though he could have done much better with a bit more effort. After graduating from high school, John found out the truth about his mother when he found a number of letters and birthday cards addressed to him in his father's study. His father had no choice but to talk. Helen Rhodes hadn't abandoned her son. She fought for custody and visitation rights tooth and nail. Francis had the upper hand though and sheltered his son from the woman that left them. After that, John left and went to college in New York, cutting ties with his father completely. It was there that he started to turn his life around, joining his school's ice hockey team and actually trying hard in school. While in his senior year, John met the love of his life. Emma was everything he had ever dreamed of and, once they were both out of school and settled in, they decided to get married. With a decent job, the couple was doing well for themselves ad eventually decided that is was time to let their family grow, and not by getting a dog. When Emma was pregnant, John heard news of his father for the first time in years. Francis had suffered a heart attack and, knowing that he had to take care of his father, John and Emma moved to Washington DC, where John started working under his father. Just after Evelyn was born, John's father suffered a second, major heart attack and died in the hospital. Taking over as the head of his father's corporation, John became like his father in many ways. He was addicted to his work, but that didn't change how he felt about his wife and daughter. Perhaps Emma didn't see that though. Their relationship became more and more strained, though John failed to see this at times. Whenever he was supposed to spend time with his family or whenever Emma tried to bring up the distance between them, something always came up. Washington DC was hit hard by the virus. It was all over the news and, upon seeing what was going on in the streets, John rushed home like a bat out of hell, nearly getting himself killed in the process. Throwing as much as he could into the car, John got his family out of there and headed north in an attempt to escape the virus. When it was clear there was no escaping, the family sought refuge in Henley Falls. |
